About Daniel Garang

Daniel Garang started the Sudanese Education and Leadership Organization after making his way across the deserts of Sudan and Ethiopia with a small band of other orphans, that have been since called the Lost Boys.

Daniel spent months in a hospital in Ethiopia, survived, and was able to come to Houston (in 2000), where he is studying to be an engineer.

Daniel devotes his free time to creating a community in Houston for recent Sudanese refugees, and tries to connect them with resources that will help them jumpstart their life in America.
